So I'm a little annoyed with myself for the self-pity post I published earlier this week. That's not who I am or who I want to be. I'm Back ... and a Little Down

Well, I'm back from "vacation". Note that I put the word in quotes. While it was mostly warm, there was so much strife within my travelling group that I can't exactly say that I had a relaxing -- or even particularly good -- time. So now, I feel like I need a vacation to rest up from my "vacation".

Thus, as you can probably imagine, this wasn't the battery recharge or, more importantly for readers of this blog, chance to get the creative juices flowing again.

And to top that off, while I did pick up my 300th follower (and follower 301 and 302!), in the two weeks that I was gone, I received just 2 comments and 1 email. Look, I know that I don't do a very good job of commenting on other blogs or emailing other writers. I get that. So I shouldn't be upset when I don't get the sort of feedback that I want. I understand that. But you know what else? I'm human too (though some in my family have occasionally questioned that...). So while I shouldn't be upset -- probably don't have the right to be upset -- it still gets me a little down.

Maybe if "vacation" hadn't been such a downer...

Oh, well. I'm back and captions will resume later tonight (or, per my usual schedule in the wee hours of the morning). I'm going to continue trying to keep up with the daily caption schedule, but I don't know how long I'll be able to. We'll see.

Last Post for a While - It's Spring Break!

Tonight's post will be the last for a few weeks. Tomorrow I'm headed out for an early spring break. The weather forecast in my destination says "hot" and given the winter we've had so far, that sounds just fine by me. Hopefully, a couple weeks in the sun will recharge the creative energies so that I can keep up with the captioning.

Oh, and as I leave, I see that I have 299 followers. Will I make it to 300 by the time I get back?
